Tired out, standing in security line, headed home.

Day 8 - BFP, Yad Vashem, Communion and headed home. First of all, sorry for the delay in documenting our last day in Israel. As most of us, we came home with lots to catch up on and many more thoughts of our time together in the Land of the Lord. Our final day began with a visit to the Bridges For Peace Distribution Center based in Jerusalem. Here we saw firsthand how we as Christians can bless the people of Israel. We saw pallets of food, the workshop, and supplies to minister to all who come. BFP feeds over 22,000 a month throughout the land. They welcome Jews from all over the world who come to Israel. Home repair and crisis assistance are just a few of the projects that they do. A great ministry blessing Israel for over 50 years right here in Jerusalem. Back to the hotel for our final packing and then a bit of shopping on this last day in Israel. Then, on to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum, in honor of the millions murdered by the Nazis. Never enough time to fully see and remember, all of us were touched by this terrible event in human history against God’s people, the Jews. “Never again” is our prayer. We end our tour at one of the sites believed to be the burial place of Jesus, the Garden Tomb. What a fitting end to our time in Israel. We listened to the gracious guide who told us the history of this Garden. As we entered the opened tomb the sign so declared the truth. “HE IS NOT HERE - HE IS RISEN” Praise be to God! Our final time of devotion as a group, now a group of new friends, was spent singing songs of worship and praise, listening to God’s Word, and sharing Communion. An amazing end to an amazing time in Israel. A delicious farewell meal at the “Fish and Olive Restaurant”, that resounded with laughter and thanks, concluded our trip. Now, on to Ben Gurion Airport where we headed back to New York and separated to our homes across the States. What a wonderful trip. Thanks to Ed Smelser and Bill Harper our co-hosts for our tour. Praise God for health, protection, peace, and strength for our days in His land. Keep following our blog. More things to come.
