An Up-close Look at the Land.

Why these pictures??? As people come to Israel, many take time to plant trees in the land. This small seedling was planted in “The President’s Forest” so named in honor of Chaim Weizmann, the first President of the State of Israel. “At the turn of the 20th century, the Holy Land was a desolate wasteland. The noted Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael have planted more than 220 million trees an awe-inspiring enterprise, restoring the vistas of the Bible to Eretz Israel, the Land of the Bible.” When Ed and I (Jim) were placing the seedlings in the dirt that day, we were told that where we stood was the location of the Biblical account of Israel facing the Philistine army (1Samuel 17). Just over the hill, in the valley below us, was where David defeated Goliath and God gave Israel a great victory over their enemy. The Land and the Lord were seen that day. As we travel, we will have many more such thrilling experiences.
